Hit the river for some evening fishing around 5:30PM. The middle gate open and at the dam.
I started down below the dam at my normal spot but 3 fishermen were already ripping lips where I wanted to fish. They were floating minnows and seemed to be doing well but they were after catfish 
So I headed up to the outflow and drifted minnow. Caught some catfish and crappies but fishing was slow. I hooked up on a big cat that ran me all crazy and broke off. My plan was to meet up with Doug so since fishing was slow I headed back down to that spot I wanted to start on and the guys were still in my fav spot 
I fished down below them but didnt get much. Switched baits to Husky Jerks (3in) and targeted walleye and pike. Hooked up twice both having to be pikes or nice walleyes. Lost them both before landing. It was one of those days were nothing was going right….
