We got a late start in East Brady due to a work related issue and we were on the water by almost noon after sitting at the dock for awhile. We headed right up river to a spot I wanted to try that was good to us in the past. Fishing looked good before the boat traffic set in but we didn’t locate fish right off the bat. I was throwing minnows and soft plastics and Suzy was using minnows. I had a few big smallies follow in a frog plastic I was using in the weed beads but they never took it. We sped down river to ti fish the rock piles around the bridge which I pulled a nice smallie out but that was it until we headed down to Redbank. At this time it was high noon and the sun was shinning bright. We fished around the bridge into Red Bank and upstream fighting strong wind gusts and boat traffic. We caught a bunch of smaller Smallies and Rockbass but nothing in the keeper range.
Fishing is excellent with the cooler nights but you have to get out early in the mornings before the heat and traffic sets in. I plan to head back up Tuesday and get out early. I will be posting updates on Facebook and Twitter so keep an eye on our accounts.
