Ryan & Rory
Finally the summer saltwater came and it is now gone sadly. Our original plan was for John, Rory, Doug and myself to head to Hatteras Island in the OBX for a shotgun trip of fishing but we diverted thanks to weather. We had planned on fishing regardless so Ryan & Rory went to Johns for some off shore fishing out of Ocean City and Doug headed to Erie to tear up the late Walleye.
The trip to OC hosted by John was a blast and we learned allot about a future Shotgun trip and what we need to plan. I will blog about what a “shotgun trip” consists of later this week.
Quick summary of the trip:
- Left for Maryland Wednesday afternoon
- Fished Thursday morning into early afternoon on the Chesapeake Bay for Speckled Trout and other game fish
- 2nd half of the afternoon we prepped our off shore gear and got a game plan together
- Friday on the water at 7am out of Ocean City inlet – Stopped at Akes Bait & Tackle for bait
- Fished a wreck about 32miles off the coast. Caught tons of SeaBass on the Jigs & Bottom bait.
- Saturday up early to leave the house at 5:30am. Plan was to fish in closer but didn’t have much luck so we headed back out the wreck we fished the yesterday.
- Back to the dock by 3pm and cleaned fish and the gear up the rest of the evening
- Back in Pittsburgh 11am Sunday
