Walleye summer

Erie is a great fishery. Now with warmer temps setting up and some dryer days, summer walleye pattern is setting up in Erie pa. We made a quick fishing trip Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Ted, Andy, nick, and I headed out late Wednesday. Didn’t leave till after 8! We were able to find fish fast on south side of trench in 66 fow. We were staying on the lakeshore near Ohio so fished way west. Got 4 good fish before darkness which wasn’t bad for hr and half fishing.

Slept on the boat on the lakeshore and back at it 430 am! Lines in at 5! Got 5 quick in first hr and expected great things… Then it got hot and not the fishing hot. Headed east and should have stayed right there. Got 4 more to call it quits by 10 am to have some cold beverages floating in the lakeshore. It was a good choice!

Fish will be headed lower in water column. Second trench should heat up quick! 200 and 125 clean reef runners brought us a pile of fillets and a great fish fry!!!! Can’t beat eating less then 12 hrs after being caught!

Good luck!
